if backfiring through carb. will blow out power valve if its a 94 carb.we need more info to help. timming could cause this poorly set mix screws on carb. ken ct. |

When I was a kid, and heard a car backfire, my Dad told me that the car was running on orange juice and it was just spitting out seeds. |

Backfiring (from exhaust, not carb) in my '41 was due to crossed spark plug wires. |

slow timing, points not set correctly, crossed wires, lean mixture,,weak valve spring, check accelerator pump to see if it working |

Wet dist. cap, or tracking inside cap. Lots of things related to Ignit. |
