Default Another Vibration Question

My stock 29 tudor runs very smooth most times at any speed. Once in a while I will get a moderate to severe vibration especially around 45 mph. When this happens I can stop the car, turn if off, restart and then it will run smooth again. The key seems to be shutting down the engine. If I don't the vibration persists thru stops, starts etc. Don't really intend to do anything about it at this point as it is easy to resolve with the shutdown.
Always look at vibration problems posted on the board but never have seen this particular problem.
Any ideas??

Have you checked the mains for excessive clearance?

Can you tell if it's in the engine, or might it be a U joint?

Can't really tell where it's coming from. Guess one thing I could try the next time it happens would be to put it in neutral & let it coast. If it was the U joint wouldn't that change with stops starts, backing up. Although I used to be a motor-head when younger did engine rebuilds, etc have not done any major motor work for some years. Not sure if I'm up to checking the mains, would need to get some help on that.

Also you could have a vibration from the rear end if the pinion bearings are loose. Best to figure where the problem is coming from before you take things apart.
