Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Saw this online and it looks beautiful. Curious if anyone here knows the car.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Says it's a 34 and it has a 34 grill, but those are 33 door handles aren't they?

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
I'd say it was a true '34. I have a '33 and believe the exterior handles are the same. Headlights and cowl lights look like '34 and cowl cut outs for hood and hood locks are '34 as is the dash and interior garnishes etc.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Hi there, Yep it appears to be all correct 1934. The deluxe interior winder knobs were usually a marble burl coloured type this one has nickel or chrome knobs as fitted to the STANDARD cars, otherwise all correct. This car is the same model and colour as the Bonnie & Clyde death car except it does not have the accessory Potter trunk at the rear. There is something special about the styling of a 1934 Ford fordor sedan which is not quite matched by the other body types in 33-34. It has real class ,in my opinion anyway. I LOVE IT. Regards, Kevin.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Kevin,
You have good eyes. Didn't notice the missing shocks. I did notice the single pin stripe though, and the lack of wood graining on the dash and reveals. Still, I love the car. That is an odd color but one I wouldn't mind having. The paint looks outstanding from the photographs. Mine is basic black, but if I had to do one over, I think I would go with the Cordoba Tan. |

Cordoba Tan is a 35-35 color and is a little different shade than the 34 Cordoba Gray.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
OK, I have a lot of 33 and 34 doors, all of the 33's have the interior handle at the front of the door and the 34's have the interior handle at the center of the doors. Anyone know when this change occurred, I always thought it was a model year thing. If some 34's have the forward handle, then apparently not. (I know these are coupe photos, but sedans are the same, at least the ones I have seen are).

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Here are some bare door photos, the 33 door is for a 5-window coupe, the 34 doors are 34 4dr doors.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Early '34 used the '33 (forward latch). I do not have a defined date that the transition to the center latch was done. Henry was just using up the remaining inner skins & latches. The early '34 doors still have the smoker panel, take the '34 garnish, and window regulator.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Thanks for the inputs! March of 34 seems late as almost all of the doors I find are the later style. March seems like it would be near the end of the model run, wonder why so many early door have disappeared and there are so many later ones around?

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
We had a very original, 4,100-ish serial number '34 5-window with the forward handles. Sorry...no pic available. DD

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
I looked for a while for the forward handle style for my 5-window coupe, all I could find were the center ones, very interesting.

Re: Beautiful Car-Anyone Here Own It?
Very nice, and it would be hard pressed to put one into that condition for upper 30's.
