Adding parking lights to 35 PU headlight stands
I have converted headlights on my 35 PU to sealed beams, thereby eliminating my parking lights.
I have seen headlight stands (Ford I believe) that have a light in them. I was thinking of locating a pair of those stands and seeing if they would work. Anyone know what vehicle these headlight stands fit? Has anyone tried this? I do not believe I could add a small light to the 35 headlight stands as the headlight would probably cover up the small light. Or, in the alternative, what suggestions would y'all have for parking lights that would work/look okay. TIA Lawson

I believe you are refering to 38-47 COE headlamp stand and I personally dont think they would fit worth a flip

I think you are right on both counts. Back to square one.

Re: Adding parking lights to 35 PU headlight stands
Wish I could help Lawson. I went a different track so I could retain the park lights [not that I would ever use them] I re-wired and fitted relay's for high and low beam then found a place that sold direct replacement [APF] halogen 55 /60 globes. Now that I have a small 3" pulley on the alternator things are so bright I need shades!

I was thinking of using Guide headlights on my 36 pickup. Not the chrome ones, I would paint to match my truck |

I got a complete pair of headlights with the top parking lights at Jefferson swap meet for $40, but of course they need a bit of work...but that's the fun part isn't it? |

Re: Adding parking lights to 35 PU headlight stands
The stands with additional small parking lights were used on 1940-41 big trucks (including COE) after the incorporation of sealed beam headlights. They are the same shape and will interchange with 1938-39 pickups and big truck headlight stands.

Can't tell if you have horns on your pickup but if you do, I added parking lights to my horns. I also installed aftermarket horns and turn signals in the horn housing. Bob

Super nice idea. Where did you get the amber lens?

Lawson, It's just a clear bulb behind the horn screen. I'll need to come up with a lens if I drive in the rain. Bob

Rodtiques makes nice 6 volt fog/running lights that clamp to the bumper brackets. I used them as turn signals on my 36 Truck.
