Default HELP for a Rookie!! oil press and ign timing

I put a 0-15 psi gage in the port by the pump housing---at idle 0 psi, as I rev it goes up, then back to 0 at idle-----?

Installed a B dist. with centrif advance---Idle timing should be??--I installed a degree indicator and marked TDC

Regarding oil pressure, depends on if you are talking hot or cold and what viscosity oil you are using. You might need to rebuild your oil pump, but not sure. Might be OK. The A pump is not a high pressure pump.

I don't know what to tell you about the B Dist on an A engine. Suggest you put on a B timing cover and time it per B engine instructions.

On a engine that has not been plumbed for full pressure, your readings are fine.
