Default 1940-41 PU dash, I want to install a 40 car dash

I need to get some ideas on how to cut out the truck dash and install a car dash. I have heard I can leave the top 1 1/2" of the truck dash and put the car dash over the top. then install the windshield molding over it. Would it be to thick to fit the molding? Thanks! Rich

The '40 pickup dash was welded in for a reason. It's part of the structural integrity of the cab. Be very careful how you do this.
