Have a '47 convertible with the center windshield flip up radio antenna. The antenna is 2" too long and and rubs on the cowl paint. I'd like to shorten it but do not know how to get it out of the base.
I have taken a narrow but 3/4" long set screw out thinking it held in the end of the antenna to the base but was unable to pull the antenna out. I do not want to force it, not knowing if that set screw actually held it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
