U Joint replacement Engine Out
We have pulled the engine and it is at a re-builder.
We would like to replace the U Joint. The transmission is still in the car. Has anyone unbolted and moved the tranny forward then removed joint or do we have to pull the Rear end out? Thanks! |

Re: U Joint replacement Engine Out
Why not just pull the transmission? Easy to do with the engine out. Much easier to work on a bench. May also be prudent to change the transmission bearings at the same time.

Yep, just need to unbolt the U Joint enclosure. Removing the shift tower would also make handling a little easier.
