Default Hood attachment on Fenderless roadster

Good Morning. I picked up a really nice hood and will be running without fenders. Where or how should I install the Latches and will I need the hood shelves? I never thought to look on the cars I've seen with a hood. Thanks, Greg

If using the hood side-panels, use the stock latches. They may require a spacer under them? If not using the side panels, you can buy leather straps and special springs that look really cool. I run no side panels and use stock latches with brazing rod extending from hood to latch. It's a modified car, use your imagination.

I want the option of full original hood and sides, I have the straps planned out, but was more curious about the side panels?

Right again ZZ. need to attach to frame rails. Not even sure what the Shelves do, I believe they are used to attach to fenders?

Thanks Welsh! That is awesome. Nothing to prevent rattle and vibration? I will just bolt on latches to frame?

Sorry Greg. I should have added also, that yes they are mounted directly to the frame rails. Like Welsh stated. Better picture.

Greg,
Is your car 28-29 or 30-31? Mine is 29 and I needed to have spacers to get the latches to reach the hood, so I made custom covers to hide the wood blocks. I will try to get pictures.
