Per the "Model A Restoration Guidelines & Judging Standards" page 17-4:

"The screw driver had a wood handle that was treated with a dull black preservative. The handle was fluted and the flutes varied from distinct to almost non-existent. The non fluted portion of the handle was more rounded (approximately 7/8" in diameter) compared to later screwdrivers after Model A production. The handle had a 9/32" diameter steel blade shaft passing entirely through it. The ferrule was either plain steel or nickel plated. The rivet was installed perpendicular to the blade and was approximately 3/8" from the large end of the ferrule. The overall length was 8-9/16". There was no knurl on the ferrule. The shaft was dipped in black pyroxylin lacquer or was plain steel and on occasion stamped on the blade with a "B" indicating the manufacturer."

The screw driver in your photo has knurling on the ferrule and no rivet through the ferrule. It is not correct for judging. I am not 100% certain, but I think your screw driver is for a later model Ford, after the Model A. I have attached a photo of a Model A screw driver below.

Note: I edited this post on January 19, 2017, to comply with the 2016 revisions of the Restoration Guidelines.

No, that is obviously a left hand screwdriver, you can tell by the knurling on the ferrule.

Awrite.. What do I have?

Mine has the knurl on the ferrule, AND, a hexagonal wood handle and no "knob" on the handle end..

The steel on the driver's side is pretty hard compared to modern drivers..

Thank you for the photo Don:
I've had one in my tool box for decade's, never knew it was a model A.
Looks exactly like the photo
