Default Fordbarn iphone app

I'm just curious, I have not talked to Ryan or anything about this before. But how many of us use our iPhones or other apple products to look at fordbarn? I use mine the majority of the time to look at the website. In fact I use it so much that I leave a permanent page up in my "safari" app, I never exit out of the fordbarn website. If I need to go to another website I just open up a new page so I can search without loosing my place on this website. But I was just wondering if anyone else would be willing to pay for a fordbarn app? Even if it was a one time fee of say $1.99-$3.99 I would probably download it. I do okay navigating this site the way it is on my phone, but I think an app would be helpful. Especially if we could upload photos straight from our phones onto a thread. As far as I know, that isn't possible the way it is. I'm no computer savy person, but I would think there's a way to make threads on app more readable than having to zoom in so much to read the small print on the phone screen. I think Ryan's other site the HAMB has an app, but I might be mistaken, forgive me if I am. I just think it would be a good way for those of us who aren't around a computer all day to still be able to watch the website even easier. But that's just my thoughts.

I guess I haven't figured out how yet. I have a hard enought time doing it from the computer. I'm only 20, but I can't use a computer any better than any 1st grader.

Have you considered just "bookmarking" the Fordbarn site, so that you can exit and easily return to it?

Well I just exit out if my other website when I'm done with it or switch witch tab I have open. Sometimes I won't get done reading a post or a thread, so I have to come back to it later. And when I open it up its still right where I left it.

All he would have to do is add Tapatalk integration on the website. The app is then free in many cases unless you want the Tapatalk Pro app, and that is a couple bucks.

I surf on my phone all the time.

Just an idea. If a person broke down on a trip with a Model A and needed advice, could they send an SOS to Ford Barn with a smart phone for advice or emergency parts? That would be very useful. Maybe this is a dumb question, but I know little to nothing about computers and modern tecnology.

I use my ipad but just bookmarked the www for The Ford Barn and then can jump right to it. You can do the same on the iphone or probably any other smart phone that has a web browser.

This forum runs on phpbb, an open source forum software. Any app that supports phpbb should connect but the reviews suck on all of them.

It does not appear that FB is compatible with TapaTalk, H.A.M.B is.

Not sure if anyone has checked on what it costs to have an IOS and Android app built, I have for my company...not cheap, for my software I was quoted $150K to $300K...I have a friend that has built a tool to easily creat an app, it cost $75K for the tool.

On both the iPad and the iPhone when you bookmark a page choose the "Add To Homescreen" button and it will drop an icon on your Homescreen.

Btw, I've tried to use TapaTalk on some other forums I'm involved with, I prefer the browser over it.

If you are going to develop this app it should use location services. Users who opt in would allow their location to be shared with other barn users. It would be great to know where you could find help/freinds while traveling. You could even include the ability to iMessage or facetime other Barners to arrange meet ups.

The Vbulletin app has issues with Apple OS. I tried to debug it but it would take too much time. The developer of Vbulletin really is the one to resolve the issue. I am sure Ryan has to balance the costs of a different back end for the forum versus the benefits. Vbulletin will catch up.
