Default Rear end gear ratio

Read somewhere here on the board, can't find it now, that if you raise one rear tire off the floor and crank the engine with hand crank that you can determine if you have a 3.78 or 3.54 or whatever. The number of revolutions on the hand crank to turn rear wheel one turn. Sooooooo my question is.... the handcrank would need to rotate 3 and approximately 3/4 times for one complete rotation of rear wheel to have the 3.78 and 3 and 1/2 times if you had the higher ratio rear end?

Thanks!

You're close to the solution, but the single rear wheel off the ground turns twice as fast, so you need to crank the engine until the wheel makes exactly 2 revs.
