1937/1938 Ford Hood Ornament question

Will a 1938 Ford hood ornament fit and function properly as a hood latch on a 1937 hood?

There are two 38's, Standard & Deluxe SO which 38 are you asking about??

I don't think anything from a 38 Deluxe will fit a 37. The handle from a 38 standard might fit a 37, but the trim piece will not bolt on.

The shaft on a '38 standard hood ornament is longer than the '37. Even the plate on the bottom of the shaft which engages the stud is slightly different. They will not interchange.
