Default Zenith carburetor smokes and drips

Hi all. I am a new to model As. Plans are to build a speedster. My engine runs but when turned off carb will have smoke come out intake and it dribbles a little gas. Any ideas

It is time to rebuild your carb. Make sure the float is adjusted, all the jets are removed cleaned, and have the proper gaskets.

There is a ton of info on this site for rebuilding carbs.

The smoke could be a sign of oil burning going on in the engine. If the engine happens to stop when an intake valve is opened, the smoke from the burning oil could come out the carb. How are your spark plugs? Are they oil fouled?
