Last I knew, New England didn't include New York State...lol. Maybe Obama changed it years ago while he was touring his 57 states....

All in fun everyone. Not trying to 'trigger' anybody. Just friendly 'ribbing'!

To some people this would not be considered “Friendly Ribbing”.

Politics and antique cars are not the same no matter what your persuasion.

Model A Fords, not Republican, Independent, or Democrat.

If you don't already have reservations, you probably can't get any.

Call the hotel. It is a very large hotel with plenty of room. The Long Island club always puts on a great meet.

Hi all,

The hotel has rooms available, and as Boston Bruce mentioned, the hotel is big place. Its a very big place out in the country, and it has a golf course. We have already expanded the block of rooms once, and will do it again if need be. Oh! The hotel is just down the road from Jake's 58 Casino!

As for New England with respect to the New England Meet, since the 1970s it has grown to include New York and New Jersey clubs as hosts, and participation has been as far off as California, Florida, Canada, India and Taiwan. Upwards of 150 Model A's are anticipated to participate this year. Last I checked, hotel reservations were at 91 and increasing daily. By the way, the 3 seminars at the meet will have handouts, so be sure to signup for the seminars.

Registration forms for the meet will be available very soon, so get your contact info to Jon ASAP. Maybe a Model A'er from "Down Under" will attend this year?

It was New Netherland when my Dutch (Roeloff Swartwout) ancestor landed.

I wouldn't pitch it as "New England". My first thought on seeing NE was the bad drivers and traffic of Boston.

I stand corrected

Last year, Boston drivers ranked the worst in the country, according to a study by the insurance company Allstate.

Boston also ranked as the worst-driving of the 200 cities included in the study the year before that and the year before that.
But with each new year comes the opportunity for improvement — if only incrementally. In 2018, Boston drivers climbed out from the worst overall ranking. The city is now second worst. And just barely.
According to Allstate’s 2018 “best drivers” report, Boston ranked No. 199 out of 200. The ignominious label of worst-driving city now goes to Baltimore.
So did Boston drivers actually get better, or did Baltimore drivers just get worse? Well, a little bit of both, according to Allstate.

Actually Boston did improve in 2019 and is now tied with Los Angles and a few CA cities which are a spot or two away.

I have lived my entire life in New England, yet never considered Boston to be at all representative of New England. Instead, I think of small towns in Connecticut, central and western Massachusetts, Vermont, NH, and Maine, with the jewels being Cape Cod, the Berkshires, the Green and White Mountains and most of Maine.

Don't forget little Rhody. Has miles of beautiful beach and Block Island is a treasure. Many Newport Mansions are also on display. But if you blink you will be through it in no time. Go back to visit all my family every summer, but love the flat roads and winter months for driving the A in Florida.

I would very much appreciate it if the Little Rhody Club gets back into the New England Meet rotation.
