Default mirror resilver

I was cleaning up and going through my model A parts and came across a original review mirror. The silver is gone on the sides but not where the bracket was attached. I would like to have it resilverd. Can any one recommend some one who dose mirrors?

Check with Steve Becker at Bert's Model A 800-321-1931. He put me in contact with someone that re-silvered an original Ford aftermarket clock mirror for me.

I have a warning about resilvering rearview mirrors. I had three model A mirrors resilvered by a place in St Paul, MN. None of them turned out well. The problem was the glass was etched as the paint and silver was worn away from years of the sun beating down on the back of the mirrors. After the mirrors were resilvered, you could see the pattern of the metal through the silver.

It would probably be cheaper to have a glass shop cut a new one the shape of the old one. You should put your general location in your profile, someone close to you might recommend a shop.

Ron's Corner in Winston, Missouri has done several original mirrors for me and they have been great. Phone number is 660-749-5473.

Frank Wright Glass in Detroit Michigan did 2 mirrors for me and did a fine job . They also wrap the silver coating around the edges as original . Look close for scratches on the surface as they will show up when re-silvered . Norm

We used Alchemy Mirror Re Silver, (651) 641-1125 for our fine point, don't recommend having a new one cut if you have an original.
