I have a couple of these bands on my cars and have installed them on friends' Model A's. Sharp! For years, A & L made stainless steel reproductions of these bands. Pricey, but of high quality. I don't know if A & L still makes them since Al's passing a while back. I rather doubt it. Lots of work polishing them out, so Al offered them in buffed or unbuffed condition, the prices being reflected the amount of labor required to bring out the shine.
The wheel's face plate has a crimped edge that fits underneath the band for a tight fit. It was usually painted black to harmonize with the fenders, but I have seen photos of original Model A's where the tire face plate was painted lower body color. Owner's choice.

Any idea what the cover is worth? It has some dents in it, but definitely worth saving.
