My wife was scared half to death ......
Was out for a ride with the Pickup the other day. The wife was driving and was about to pull in third gear when a big loud bang hit us! .... I screamed, what in hell are you doing! ....
Later, I apologize, because I found that one hood hinge spring had broken and hit the cowl with a bang exactly when she pulled the third gear! What a coincidence! Still married, Jorgen |

Re: My wife was scared half to death ......
Last summer my wife and I were out for a drive in my '39 pickup. I was making a left turn at an intersection when I heard a scream from her in the passenger seat. While we were completing the left turn she decided to hold onto the door handle. She inadvertantly opened the door and it swung open. She quickly closed the door and I had to tell her that the door handles on these old cars and trucks are not a handle to hold onto. It's a safety thing and I should have warned her prior to this.

Hey Jorgen,
Made me grin, and think of an old saying...load your brain before shooting with mouth. Not easy to do sometimes, eh ! Think that she'll ever drive (your truck) again ! |

Re: My wife was scared half to death ......
My wife backed her Sequoia out of the driveway very near where my 38 was parked. When she stepped on the brake the rear set of seats fell back with a sickening thud. This happebned just as I'm going from the shop to the 38! I almost went into cardiac arrest ...again!

Hi Everyone, Awesome photo in post #1.
Revised thread title: "I soiled my drawers, almost." Knows how to use a clutch. Puts up with your s#hit. A keeper! Be glad you could still hear the spring letting go! Eh? Have met at least three Swede groups here in my hotel outside Hershey this week.

Re: My wife was scared half to death ......
I was driving our Model T (stocker) to a cruise-in a month ago with my wife following in our '40 pickup.
The T broke it's crankshaft. I've never heard that much noise come out of an engine! The racket scared the hell out of her and she was a hundred feet back. Still ready to go again. |
