New guy from Washington State
Hello, looked for a welcome or new guy section for a while but couldn't find one so Ill just introduce myself. My names Cory, I just acquired a 29 Business coupe and thought I better find a place to talk to other A owners. I'm not new to wrenching or fabrication, I'm a regular on The Chopper Underground and have built a few bikes. But this is my first A, think Ill just lurk around and see if I can learn something.

Re: New guy from Washington State
Ill post a few pics of my last builds, I know there not cars but at least you guys will know I work on me own stuff. I jigged and welded up the frame and do my own fabrication and motor work as well as paint. Glad I found you guys.

Re: New guy from Washington State
Just bought it from a good friend at the senior home association I work at. She runs fantastic so no questions yet, thats a first, lol...................Its a 25 year old restoration thats holding up quite well. Ill be looking into a new top, but with that will probably come paint also. Couple little leaks but not enough to even want to crawl under yet. Sorry about the giant pic, lol....................Cant seem to remove it. More builds.

Re: New guy from Washington State
I'm just removing old wax, grime and dirt from the old paint job so I can do my touch up painting right now. have a few bubbles on the cab, thought I might invest in an air brush for some touch up there.

Re: New guy from Washington State
Always wanted one, and a friend was willing to sell it to me at a realistic price. And the damn thing runs so well I couldn't say no. I love all antiques, and of course a car is going to be on my list. Just happen to fall in my lap Sir.

Welcome! The Model A hobby is a very friendly group as you will discover. There is a lot of knowledge and talent on this site, but you should look into joining a local chapter too.

Neat car. I really like the business coupes. Wish there were more around, meaning I wish there was one in my garage!!
Welcome to the Model A world. I'm one of the more mechanically challenged ones here, and have received lots of help from the more talented regulars. |

Welcome Cory
I think you'll love the Ford Barn. We really enjoy answering questions about Model As. I hope you will join a local chapter of MARC or MAFCA. That's where the real fun is. |

Re: New guy from Washington State
Thanks guys............... I'm living proof of how helpful a forum full of knowledgeable guys can be. Never broke into a motor in my life other than top end stuff till I joined TCU. I could weld and paint, fabricate and what not but when it came to tearing motors completely down I didn't have a clue. Something as simple as an on line forum gave me the confidence to move foreword with projects I never would have attempted on my own.
Probably the only thing I appreciate about computers is the INTERNET and the knowledgeable people you can meet. I looked at other A sites but this one seemed family oriented, friendly and easy to work with. |
