Noisy Rear Spring
I used these on mu 1931 Model A to stop a super noisy rear spring, they worked great. Not sure they make them for a 36 has anyone used them on theirs? Think the Model A ones will fit the 1936?

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
Most 36s have a fitting aaa part of the center bolt for spring lube, it is a normal grease fitting, and used a normal grease gun, but spring lube is thin oil with talc--- 75% atf, balance talc, shake before use, the 36 service bulletins give more details

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
There are no grease fittings on mine and I think it is the actual spring metal rubbing together that is making all the noise. That's what is was on my Model A

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
Need to spread the leaves of the spring apart and lube them with something like SlipPlate. This is a one leaf at a time process and not that easy to do.

Jseery, that's why I like the oil soaked wraps, self lubricating while you drive.

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
I jacked my 39 up one the frame and let the springs hang. They separate a little. Spray with carb or brake cleaner on the sides of the springs (I hung new paper behind the springs each way to catch the spray.) Then sprayed Slip Plate in between the leaves. Fifth Wheel works well, but it doesn't come in a spray can.

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
Just take oil can and squirt them up good, go for a drive , do it again --- I use auto transmission fluid, it will soak in, I start squirting up into the cross member
You may find after springs lubed the shocks need to be better, or adjusted tighter |

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
Okay I jacked it up spring didn't really open much but I bought some Redline liquid grease forced in as much as I could and coated the whole outside rubbing it in the cracks with my hand, squeaks and noises are gone! Thanks for the advise.

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
I never heard of the liquid grease until I did some research. It sprays out as a liquid then turns into a sticky grease. Great for getting into those hard to get at spots.

Re: Noisy Rear Spring
"Lucas Oil Products Red N Tacky Grease" - there are several out there, this seemed to do the trick.
