32 Ford 3 window windshield rubber?
I am building a real deal 3 window that was chopped hard way back in it's day. I have the windshield frame fit and bought a new rubber seal from Dennis Carpender for it.
My ? is can you tell me the best way to cut the rubber to fit proper and how to install it. Also what rubber sealer to use. Any photos would be great of this being done. Thanks for any help.... |

I usually put the seam by the windshield wiper arm and if your not running one then in the top center. don't cut the corners that is always an issue with shrinkage. just one seam on the top side near the center works great.

Put a seal on my coupe. Didn't use any sealer. It fit tight.

I think cutting under the wiper like Rex suggests is a great idea. When I installed a full-size Carpenter seal in my tudor I didn't use any sealer. It fit snugly in the groove. No leakage around it (but there are other places where the car leaks).

A dab of super glue on the cut ends of the rubber will work well for holding the ends.

Sure hope this works. I might say that I made a little tool to run around the inside of the window frame to make sure all the old crap was removed and that was a good move as there was lot's of old rubber still in there. Blew it out with air and flushed it with some thinner. |
