BobLove - have to say that in my book that 56 Customline hardtop is the prettiest car I have seen in a photo in quite some time! My dad is still looking for a model like yours only all black...maybe one of these days he will find one.

In the mean time y'all, here is what I am working on in the garage...

Don't laugh - she's all paid for and she is my next project. This shot was taken when I was hauling her almost 900 miles from Alabama to West Virginia.

Take a look at the motor that will one day run this 55 Ford Sunliner....

I took my first drivers test in a '56 two tone blue Parklane. My dad bought it in '58 and used it for hunting trips to Wyoming until 1964 when he traded it for a 64 Ranch Wagon. Being from the Pittsburgh, Pa area, aka the rust belt, when he traded it in it was pretty well rusted up.

It was one of my favorite cars and I would like to find another to add to my garage.

This is the only photo I have of it. It was taken as I was headed out to our High School Senior Prom.

55 Fordor sedan with 292 Y-block, Dual exhausts, dual action fuel pump, Fordomatic, power steering, 6-volt electrical system. Everything works. Clock was converted to quartz movement. Original radio was gutted and retrofitted with modern stereo receiver. Just got rid of OEM tires in favor of new radials.
Been driving this daily for about 30 years. Rebuilt engine in '81 and rebuilt heads again in '92. Still going strong.

Well, here are some pictures of the car I purchased last year. A 70 Maverick you say????????????

The car started life in the late 70's as a purpose built drag car to be in the
B/SM class. It originally had a 302 with 351C heads and 4spd top loader crash box (still have the original 4spd). It was participent in the 79 Winter Nationals at Pomoma................80 and 81.
I have been the 4th owner since the car was built some 35 years ago, and the outward appearance of the car hasn't changed much, although it now sports a 408ci Windsor with 2spd Powerglide. I am putting the graphics back on the car like it was at Pomona and will run the car on tracks in Southern Oregon and Northern California...................The car has done 9.9's at over 133mph.
The first picture is in my driveway, second is 1980 at Fremont Drag Strip, and third is the 408ci motor currently in the car.

Very, Very nice 56, and with the FE and 4spd................great combination.
Have always had a soft spot for the 55/56 customline.

A little off the subject, but there was a guy in Portland, Or in the mid 60's with a green 54 customline and 406 tripower, 4spd that was a true stoplight terror......we called him "The Greek". Also had a friend with a very built 312 in a 55 customline.

Thanks, I do love to drive this car. Hard to keep my foot out of it!
A friend of mine bought a brand new, complete 427/ 425 from Ford back in 1963 and installed it in a cherry '55 Customline tudor sedan with a four-speed. If memory serves me, he paid $1,125. for the engine complete, air cleaner to oil pan!
That car was unbelievable! At first he left the '55 rear in it until he ripped it out at Island Dragway spilling the contents of the fuel tank all over the track......not good!

The 67 Fairlane,.... Ah,... I named,... ahhhh,... Rusty ! (nah, just kidding, it aint all that rusty)

One of the "Wicked Sister Stangs" This one is becoming a phony "R" code car, 428 C.J. /C-6,... It's Sister is a real "R" code 4spd. car

This one got some attention a few weeks ago,..... these were taken just before the engine went it,.... now it's on the ignore list.
