Re: Lincoln wheel cylinders ( front )
If you can't find a specific supplier, seals are sold by the outer diameter, inner diameter, and width. Any bearing supply place can supply seals based in the dimensions.
You should be able to measure the three dimensions you need. Mart. |

Re: Lincoln wheel cylinders ( front )
The stock front wheel cylinders are 1 1/8" bore all the way through for the Lincoln Bendix brakes. The Ford Lockheed brake cylinders have a step in them as only the front shoe stops the car. Changing wheel cylinders would not have any positive effect on the stopping ability of either type brake systems.
Using the same size wheel cylinder front and back would have a tendency to lock up the front brakes first on severe stopping. The different size cylinders front and back act as an equalizer to apply even pressure to the front and back |
