Confusing Manifold
Would like to know what this manifold is for. It fits a Model A but has other characteristics. The number AAF 9425 is on one end of it and the ports have been honed (looks like from the factory). I have other pics I can email if necessary.

Re: Confusing Manifold
According to my Canadian Ford parts book it's from a Right Hand Drive AA.

Re: Confusing Manifold
I have a similar manifold, but the boss (hump) over the rear runner is not drilled and tapped. My understanding is that this boss was for a pivot for the spark advance/retard.
Does anyone know why some of these manifolds did not have the boss drilled and tapped?

Re: Confusing Manifold
Originally, these RHD manifolds had a post set in the casting when it was poured. I guess all sorts of things happen in 85+ years. A bell crank mounted on the post to operate the ignition advance.
By the way, these bell cranks and the rods that go to and from them are not available! There was another thread about this not long ago.

Re: Confusing Manifold
I have one sitting in the garage...it's for a RHD and from my understanding the post is pressed in. Unfortunately the post, bell crank and linkage are very hard to come by. (I still need them!)

Re: Confusing Manifold
Some of them have smaller internal passages , They are for the small bore European engine.
That engine was available in LHD European countries like France, and Holland they didn't have the post They only have the post if it was sold in a RHD country like England |
