Floor Mat Question
I have a '35 coupe with a '39 transmission. The transmission towers are different and so will the placement of the hand brake. Will a '39 floor mat work, fit, in a '35 coupe? I am thinking that the holes will line for the shift tower and hand brake. From photographs, the brake and clutch pedals are the same spacing on the '35 and the '39. Just thinking. Anybody ever try that? It all depends on the coupe interior floor dimensions. May need a little trimming? Thanks.

Re: Floor Mat Question
Your best bet is a '36 front floor mat as it has the same shift lever opening as a '39. The pattern on the '36 mat and its color are different than that on a '35 mat, but with a '39 transmission, you've sort of already crossed that bridge.

Re: Floor Mat Question
Thanks David. I'm getting it ready to drive to the ENM in Clayton, NY in September. I hope that you can join us. I will buy a '36 mat if I can find one. John

Re: Floor Mat Question
The vendors list '35 and '36 floor mats as the same. Michael D. listed one as '36, but it looked the same and, of course, they are out of stock. I am delighted to hear that you will be at the ENM. Thanks for your help.

Ask and see if any vendor has one without the transmission shift lever housing opening in it as they have existed. You can then add it yourself. |

Re: Floor Mat Question
A little tweaking and I got the '35 mat to fit. Thank you all.
