28/29 Pick up Bed
How can i distinguish a 28/29 pick up bed for a Closed Cab Pickup from other years and did the bed vary on the 30/31?

Re: 28/29 Pick up Bed
I believe all narrow beds for model A's were the same except for some minor differences in 1928. There are a couple extra rivets (on the bottom) on the tailgate for some beds.

Re: 28/29 Pick up Bed
1. length of bed for my Jan 28 is slighty longer than later models. Warning: if you have this feature, be careful ... the bed wood and steel scuff strips are also slightly longer ... don't ask me how i know
2. mine does not use wood stringers to mount to frame, rather directly to an extended metal subframe that is integral to that under the cab (apparently unique to only the early 28 but i dont have any statistics as to when changed to more common later style.) |

Re: 28/29 Pick up Bed
Thanks WRDLN, Charles. Really appreciate your feedback. I have a narrow bed from a 1927 T. Is this completely different to the A Bed? Thanks in advance for your help.

The T-bed is different. Stake holes are in different locations for one.

Re: 28/29 Pick up Bed
Hello Charles R. my "A" box is 56 1/2" long 1931.
Lil Nick : here is a picture of a 1925 "T" pickup box. 1925 only, no skirt at the bottom to cover the frame, also no fender support on the outside. This box used a threaded rod to support the fender and you can see the added plate on the inside of the box. There would also be a cutout on the front panel so you can access the battery. Hi Lil Nick: Here is a picture of a "T" box. 1926 or 1927 depending who you ask. You can see the stamping into the side of the box, this is where the fender mounts. Gary in MN

Re: 28/29 Pick up Bed
I like those side hooks.
Are they original to a T? Is a problem with the A.... no where to tie off ropes. |
