4lbs pressure when the pump is cold. As the temp raises the pressure drops. At 3lbs it will start to vapor lock when it's hot. A small return line allows the fuel to keep flowing, cooling the pump with very little chances of Vapor lock. Need about a 1/16 orfice so to much fuel don't return. To much return will act like a governer at high speed. G.M.
