Post Repeated Questions

Since the new forum supports what it calls "Sticky Threads" or discussions that always appear at the top of the forum it seems to me that it would be worthwhile to post a number of these "Sticky" threads that deal with the most common questions. For Example:
  1. How do I start my new Model A.
  2. How do I set the timing on my car.
  3. What are the recommended spark plugs to use on my car.
  4. What are the stock Model A colors.
  5. What are the body model numbers and where do I find it.
  6. What are the symptoms of Vapor Lock
If your a regular here you know how many of the questions deal with just these issues. It could even be one thread that covers all of these. Not to discourage the conversation but more to answer the most common questions.

Seems to me the need for a seperate page of "Most asked Questions" may be needed. But at what point does a question get to that point? If we did something like that what would be the need for the forum in the first place? Sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone. Rod

A Most asked question page is a good idea but I think people will still ask on the main page just to get a live response We could have a pre asked question time when people could know that these topics are going to be asked and they could toon in .

Actually, once an archive is built up there's not much need for the message board.

But don't worry ....... most are too lazy to search the archives and many don't even know what an archive is. That's why the same questions are asked over and over. It's convenient.

Moreover, the message board for many is a place to hang out or hang out while waiting for dinner to be served by loving and faithful wife.

Also new product discussion like Burtz's block for example.

Default Repeated Questions? not a problem.....

Ryan's new board format helps a lot.

we can preview the text of the first post in every thread without opening it. this and the ability to jump to the first unread message in a thread saves a lot of time.

I agree, I really like the new format. The influx of new people from the HAMB seem to have more REAL WORLD experience. Most model A people don't have a perfect 500 point show car, but still enjoy the hobby, their own way.
