Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
After kicking the idea around and some procrastinating I finnally got my hotel reservations and sent off my registration for the NW regional MAFCA meet in Bend, OR this coming September. This will be my first Model A event outside of my local club so I"m excited! I'm looking forward to meeting some of you ford barners out there! It will be nice to put a face to some of the regulars I've come to know of from this forum over the last couple years. Who else is planning to attend?

Re: Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
We will be in Bend that weekend. Not just for the Meet though. Wife and I will be looking for where the most are parked. Probably the Riverhouse, since they are the Host for the event. Sadly, we will be "A" less that weekend.
Might I suggest making a sign with your Forum handle for the windshield? |

Re: Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
I don't have a registration number yet, I just sent in my application today. I'll be driving my coupe down which is in my profile picture album. It would be neat if we could get a fordbarn pin or something, even a sticker to put on my MAFCA name tag or something. At 32 I'll be one of the younger guys there so that might help figure out who I am Then Again I don't have much hair left either so maybe not!

That's the plan. If I have any trouble keeping up its going to be Alan's fault. (For those that don't know, He is a club member who graciously loaned me an engine to get me running until mine is rebuilt. He is also traveling down there with the group)

Another suggestion. PM each other where you are staying, and maybe, your cell numbers so you can meet up.
Some of the folks here might be staying at the same motel. Great group to run around with for the weekend! |

Exciting ! I know last year I was able to attend my first Model T event outside my local club as well and it was a Hoot! Have fun, my "A" won't be ready for any touring for at least another year.

Wish I could be there especially since it is our future home. But alas, duties elsewhere.

Re: Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
We will be there. We are #39. Yes it is a great place to meet new people in the "A" business. Last year in Boise a bunch of Barners got together one afternoon to chat and get better acquainted. Maybe could do the same this year. If I remember, someone put up a sign about the Barners event close to the registration booth.

Hey Montanafordman,
You'll have a GREAT time! We went to the Boise meet last year. It was our first meet and we loved it! The cars were great, the tours fun and the people fantastic!! We couldn't get enough of it. For those at the meet we printed off the logo on sticker paper and cut them out. We placed them on the message board and people could get them when they picked up their registration packet and stick them on their name tag. That way it didn't matter if you were with or without your car. As long as you had your name tag, people could recognize you as a Fordbarner. PM me and we can make arrangements to send you the file if you want. That way you won't have to recreate it from scratch. It has a place for people to write in their Fordbarn name. Robert |

Re: Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
I checked with Ryan. He says it's OK to use the Ford Barn logo as long as nobody's making any money off of it. Anybody want to make some stickers? I was going to print some window signs, but if somebody can do stickers, that's a neat idea too.

Re: Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
IN the 80's we drove to a Model A meet in Bend, OR.
On the back of my Model A I put a big sheet of white cardboard on the rear of my bumper mounted leather trunk. On the cardboard I had in big black letters, "Mend We Must, Bend Or Bust" There must have ben a hundred cars that passed us with thumbs up and hands waving. We went through many states, into Canada, Victoria Island, drove the A on to a ferry boat, drove Mucho many miles and on the return trip to California, 5 miles from home, the crankshaft broke in half at on the center main. I still consider that one of the luckiest days of my live. If that baby would have busted in Canada, I'd still be up there!! |

Re: Ok, I'm in! MAFCA NW regional meet in Bend, OR
Maybe Ford Barn members could meet one morning at the Old Mill district. This would be a nice parking lot on a week day morning to meet at. (Or the mall parking lot across from the river house, but, that's just a lot!)
