Default '47 Fordor Fan Hub Play

I was going down the highway and started hearing a loud noise coming from the front of the car and it sounded like something in rotation and my temperature gauge was fluctuating. I pulled over and it stopped and then repeated the same thing when I got back up to speed. I pulled over again and sat for a little while and went going again. It didn't do it again. I had no problems after leaving the car show and going home. My temperature gauge did not fluctuate at all and stayed right in the middle.

The water pumps are good and tight, but I can wiggle the fan back and forth and the sound it made seemed like it was very close to what I was hearing.

My fan assembly is the electric one that works off water temperature and not the normal fan/hub assembly.

My question is, what all would l need to buy to get rid of the electric version and get back to normal fan/hub assembly? I would think my fan blades and brackets will work fine but not sure what else I need to get.

Browse this site and you will see what you need.

Give Mr. Van Pelt a call also for best info. on what fan hub assembly is best
for your car. Number and style of fan blades varies over the years.

BOB DRAKE also makes a reproduction fan hub that uses sealed bearings and does not require lubrication.

They also appear on Ebay. Make sure there are no hairline cracks in the fan blades as it may work harden and fly apart due to years of previous use, rust, and flexing. I had that happen once. That's why you should never stand in the line of fire of a rotating fan blade. Can kill you.

If you have access to a lathe, you can also make your own hub with sealed bearings and spacers.
