Default Pin stripe tape for A colors

Hi, in the final stages of my 31 pickup project. I'm looking a pin stripe color to match the rims. I'm thinking the color is (cigarette cream ). Does anyone know where I might find custom or rare pinstripe tape colors? Thanks a ton Gino

I doubt you will find a tape that comes close to a color match. I had a pin stripper come to my house and he mixed paint and brushed it on my wheel, wiped it off, mixed the color some more and brushed it on the wheel again. He then striped the body, collected only forty bucks and he was gone! I thought the job was way under priced but he and I were happy with the results.
Be sure your person you choose knows Model A's or show him or her the correct way you want it performed. Good luck.

Consider buying some 3M pinstripping masking tape and painting on the stripe with your wheel paint.

Call Jim Brand. He's the best, and will do it right.

YUP, Gino, LISTEN to this man, we come frum the "AMERICAN GRAFFITI ERA" in the '50's! Striping was ART from the "GODS"! Do real striping, tape or homemade striping will make folks LAFF frum 20 YARDS away! FAKE striping looks as bad as an OIL painting done with a RUBBER STAMP!

I was in a tie for best appearing car at the drag races, the tie was broken by my excellent striping, by my BEST friend, Jim McKenna!! I still have my one & ONLY trophy, with a lowered, fender skirted, customized, '36 Ford Coupe on it!! I should have my name engraved on it, oh! well, I know who I am & The Dog BELIEVES anything I tell him!! Bill W.

I did my 33 using some real deadly tape I got from a place in the USA,I think nit was pepes pinstriping.the tape had the strip in it ,you put the tape on,pulled the top from it and painted ,the removed the test,If you want the name of the place let me know and I will go down stairs and get the full info.It worked a treat on the 33.

Ok, so I will look for a professional to do the pin striping. I to expect to pay more than forty bucks. I live on Cape Cod Ma. Should anyone know some one in this area who can perform this task, please let me know. I appreciate the advise and valued opinions. Thanks

I'm not sure how far you are from NYC, but Jim Brand is an excellent pinstriper.

I would be safe in thinking JIM BRAND will be at the NEW ENGLAND MEET in Hyannis, Cape Cod next weekend.
Make an appointment with him since he is generally at the NE meets doing pin striping.
HE IS THE BEST in this business.
MAFCA book has his listing as 516 922-1892

He did mine and I couldn't be more pleased.

You can use the Finesse brand of tape, peel off the center and paint with Eastwoods sign paint then remove the rest of the tape. This has worked well for me on about 10 Model A's

Sadly, the only tape that could actually fool folks into thinking it was paint is long gone. Back in 86 I'd bought a product called "Cal Stripe" and pinstriped a 'Cuda hot rod with it. It wasn't flat and die cut like the crap on the market today. It actually had a shine to it and rounded edges. It even shined up with wax. 2 guys were arguing by the car as to whether it was paint or tape because I 'sealed' the ends with clear nail polish. Long gone from my suppliers at least. That stuff was the very best ever and maybe $10 more than the normal cheap-cheap type. Finding a striper shouldn't be too hard. Head over to the HAMB and ask, you're sure to get over a dozen replies.
