Brake Lining Rivet Depth
How much brake lining material should there be above a driven rivet head? This has a profound effect on the life of the lining, and the strength of the connection.

As I recall, back in the day it was about 1/2 the thickness of the lining.

just an FYI.
in the past, within the last 5 years, have bought brake linings that came with steel rivets instead of brass. i was told that is how they come now, i don't know if that is true for all suppliers i bought brass and discarded the steel ones. ou
