Default 1948 Coupe Floorboard Panels

I need to replace the sheet metal in front of the seat area, while maintaining the original toe board / inspection panel. From what I have seen on Ebay replacement panels available seem to eliminate this panel and go write up to the firewall. Does anyone know of available panels that maintain the OG inspection panel?

Yup, I've got to do the same repair. As you said, only sheetmetal I've seen from Absolute Sheet Metal and EMS are not like the originals. I'm also interested to know if anybody else makes replacements, but I'm thinking I'll need to have the floors custom made to closely match the originals.

I bought the EMS materials. Ultimately, I used them mostly as patch panels due to the condition of my floors. They were serviceable - not great. The rocker panel pieces, while not nearly as complicated a part, were a more ready fit.

Ritzy 1, Forty-Niner those floorboards very look familiar. Direct Sheet Metal makes a rear floorboard panel set. It extends from the middle of the front seat back to the rear seat riser.

Maybe this panel can be moved up to the inspection panel with less fabrication?

Apologies, I mis-read the question. You need the front floor board - the removable piece between the firewall and fixed floor boards, right?

I stumbled into ownership of a NOS front floor board. Trying to modify the other floor panel pieces into the front floor board would be worse than starting from scratch, IMO. You are welcome to my old piece for the cost of shipping.

No FortyNiner, I'm talking about the floorboard area behind that removable panel.

Got it.

So, you found the same thing I did; the replacement panels are designed for a portion of the floor. I did just as you indicated and slid up the replacement piece to cover the rusted area of the original floor. It isn't a dead match but certainly good enough for a driver.

By design, the pieces seem to miss the mark by about 4 inches.
