'37 1-1/2 Ton Rear brake and axle questions
The rear brakes on my '37 short wheel base frame that I'm swapping my body onto have stuck brake arm/shafts. The wheel assemblies roll nice and smooth/freely with no dragging or resistance. But I can't get the parking brake or active brake arms to move. I've soaked and tapped on them for a couple weeks now to no avail. I'm thinking they're stuck in the bushing, tube or whatever the hole is called that the shaft goes thru.
So I guess I'm gonna have to pull the full floating axles out and have a looksee inside. Are there any special things I need to know to get the full floating axles out of the hubs and get the hubs off the axle housings? They look to be very similar to most full floating axles setups...but I'm wondering about the axle nuts and lock parts inside the hub. |
