Default is repop exhaust manifold any good.

I'm in need of a good exhaust mainfold and I know original is better than repop but was wondering if anyone has tried the repo ones that the parts places sell. I would think the fatique on the original ones for the past 80 years with the heat would make the original ones really brittle and not as strong. Just wondering. Thanks

I have used reproduction manifolds, and found them to be very good.

Ditto. When my oroginal crumbled, I replaced it with the "baked finish" version from Brattons. It connects perfectly to my NOS muffler. It lacks the late '31 reinforcement of my old manifold, but but otherwise it looks great and it keeps me on the road.

Thanks for your replies on the exhaust manifold. Did you use your original intake with the new exhaust and did you have to get them milled? Thanks again

Original intake... did not have to get it milled. Nice tight, flat fit.

Snyders is a nice manifold. It fit really really good, Although mine didnt come threaded where the intake bolts to the exhaust. I dont know if thats normal, or if mine missed a step in the production. It had the hole where the threads would go, but no threads. so we took it to the local machine shop and they threaded it in 3 minutes

Thats what i figured. But i didnt want to mess with paying for shipping back and forth to snyders. So i think i payed like 10 bux to get it threaded.

Logan, next time put the $10 toward a good set of Craftsman taps & dies at Sears.
I've been using the same set over 25 years, they pay for themselves over & over!
