Any of you bought any of the "cheaper" 2 or 3 axis DRO's for your mill and have a "recommendation" OR a "do not buy" this one story??? I am looking to add a DRO to my mill BUT not break the bank!!! Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated!!!

I got this one 4 or 5 years ago and it works great. When I got it installed on my mill one scale didn't work so I called customer service and they said some times the spring on the scale comes loose in shipping and that was the problem, took a few minutes to fix it. I got it on Ebay for about $250.

i bought those $35 cheap I gaging for x y and z with the longest scales for my 10x 52 cincinnati. I expoxied the scales. works perfectly, BUT they are battery powered. You have to take the battery's out after use which I forget to do? button batteries are not cheap I need to find a transformer . I even have one on the shaper too...

I but a pack of button batteries from Tractor supply it was in the tool section near the registers, marked down to a few dollars for about 50 assorted cells.

A much better solution to using batteries is, befriend a local ham radio guy and have him build you a 110 v power supply. It may cost you a couple of beers or a dinner besides parts but it will work forever.

Igauging sells a AC adaptor (wall wart). That's what I use on mine. Much better than Batts.
