Who Designed And Built The Ford 1904 Model B Car & Engine ?
Other than speculation ....
Does anyone have documented evidence as to who designed & built the 1904 - 1905 Ford Model B car & engine ? I assume it was Dodge Brothers who cast the principal parts for the engine which was assembled at Piquette. I believe the concept for a copper water jacketed four cylinder engine was already designed and in use during that time. The 1904 Model B was the first Ford production vehicle with a four cylinder engine in front of the firewall. I believe Ford Motor Company did not manufacture any of the parts used in the 1904 - 1905 Model B. Thoughts ? Jim |
