Those are wonderful photos, thanks for posting them. You don't see a lot of really big, clear photos posted that often

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
Thanks. I gave up on trying to load photos onto the site and then have them just be too little. Linking from Photobucket gives you images of this size, which is much less frustrating.
Mitch, I suspect it was the owner who left the soda bottle. I did see some folks opening doors and the like, which I never would do without permission of the owner. The cars were treated with the respect they and the owner deserves, for the most part. |

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
Thanks for all the pix. Are you certain that engine picture above is from that January '28 Sport Coupe? If that is the car from Jacksonville, we did a lot of work on that car (paint & assy) and then the owner & his friend did the last 30-40 percent of the restoration themselves, ...but it appears in the picture there are several things wrong that the owner had the correct parts for, so that has me curious as to what happened.

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
those cars should be roped off, . people touching them and opening the doors, who knows what else
these are the best of the best with big $$$ invested my ass would be sleeping in a cot next to the car that put a sour taste in me shame on MARC Last edited by Mitch//pa; 06-27-2015 at 07:55 PM. |

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
That engine shot on that early 28 SC is just amazing. Congrats to those who put hour upon hour, week, by week, month by month and I'm sure year by year restoring these works of art to that level of perfection.

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
Brent, I am pretty sure that is the SC. The owner told me the steering box was leaking and he was trying to address that, hence the shop rag in the photo.
I am a little mystified by the generator in that photo. I would think it should be a Powerhouse, which the one in the photo does not appear to be. I did not notice it at the time. I really didn't have enough time to take all the photos I would have liked. |

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
I really loved the photo of the spare tire cover on the Pheaton. You don't normally see ones like that.

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
Don, I agree with you. That Sport Coupe is a December, '27 car and has a 4 digit engine number. This engine has many "non early" features and has too many digits in the engine number.
By the way, I have just arrived home after my 4,600 mile round trip to Niagara Falls and back (with the side trip to Kalamazoo and the MAFFI Museum.). |

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
Nice photos, very nice!
Once at the gas station I worked at in the early 70's , a guy put brake fluid in a pop can and set it on top of a '66 Pontiac that the owner had just restored. Why he did that I have no idea. He was talking to some buddies and said later he did it w/o thinking of what he was doing. Car was in one of the work bays. The can got knocked over and you KNOW what happened next. The owner of the station was out a new paint job on the roof and driver's door that the brake fluid ran down on. He was hot. Owner was too |

Re: Fine Point Car Photos from MARC Niagara Falls
Thanks for the correction. It was Rick Nance's car. I was pressed for time in taking the shots and came back a second time for some more. It wasn't clear to me which car it was, but it was Rick Nance I was talking to. I thought he had the early 28.
