I am running the manifold heater-found it to be good at 25 degrees, adequate at 20, and slightly lacking in the single digits we had the other day-not horrible by any means, and certainly better than I had expected. I am still getting ready to install my vintage SouthWind gas heater, hopefully this week.

I've riden in modern cars with electric seat heaters and they are very nice, although some take a while before you feel the heat.

In the 60's I bought a seat pad for about $5, and as soon as you sat down it felt like a heating pad. It felt like a slighly flexible styrofoam pad inside the outer cloth. I'm not sure what was inside, but it sure worked well.

The wife has one of these that she bought for $17. Plugs into the lighter socket. It's 12V of course.

Very comfy in a cold Prius or colder VW diesel.

I have seen a Model A manifold heater that had the outlet for venting through the floorboard.
