Default Standard size AGM 6 volt battery?

I am needing to replace the 6 volt battery in my 1950 C*****. I was considering an AGM battery to avoid the acid mess. Previously, I left the hood up in storage to discourage mice on the engine. No mice but the wandering cat walked on top of the battery, getting acid on his paws, and continued his journey around on top of the car. No more hood left up. The Optima and Odyssey batteries I have found are too long for my hold down bracket so I was wondering if there is a standard size available?

This would be a really nice battery for your car. Trouble is they are outrageously expensive, and may take months to get because they are made to order:

Why was there acid on top of your battery?? You should have removed the cables and cleaned the battery top as part of readying it for storage!

I set the Optima diagonally in the case and used a piece oak 3/8ths x 1.25 across the top of the battery long enough to use the hold down bolts. Sanded and varnished the wood - looks good.

That should be easy enough, thanks for the responses. AGMs are expensive, but my experience is that you gain a lot of battery life with them.

You will be very satisfied with an Optima - good starting power and sealed battery - no acid to spill. Long life. Enjoy.

There are a couple options for hiding an Optima 6V in a battery case.
1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/36415765517...Bk9SR9COj9vRYQ

2. https://www.tartopper.com/product/op...eptember-2018/

I used the ebay option in my 38 and am satisfied. Others on this forum have had experiences they can relate.
