Default 30 Deluxe Roadster header - cloth covered?

Was the wooden header for the '30 Deluxe Roadster covered with a heavy cloth or canvas? I saw one that had the remains of a canvas cover over it but not sure if that was correct.

I have two of these deluxe 30 roadsters. Both have tops from LeBaron Bonney. The first one I ordered had no cover on the wood front header. The second one I ordered 10 years later had the header covered in Hartz cloth. I am not sure which one is correct, so I am interested in the knowledgeable replies.

Our '30 Dlx. has a LeBarron Bonney top from the 70's and it doesn't have that material over the wooden top bow.

I believe they are supposed to. Mike at Classtique's would know.

According to the Judging Standards the 30-31 Deluxe Roadster's header bow is "covered with tan drab top material".

Makes sense that the Deluxe Roadsters would have them covered. Thanks for all who chimed in.

Hello ,I have a 31 Deluxe also probably restored in 1980,s also has an uncovered front bow also, many times you find cars not correctly restored because the owner likes it that way rather than a authentic restoration .To correct it would have to remove top from bows and reinstall.

That's a lot of work just to add the canvass covering. Not planning to do that. At least I know what is correct!
