V8 Pressuire Plate clutch used in Model A's

My three round headed pivot ball bolts used to adjust the finger height are showing significant wear after a few thousand miles. I have 2" of free play and the throw-out bearing is not touching the finger bolts when the clutch pedal is at rest. I have seen this on three v8 clutches driven by different owners and in two separate vehicles. Are the round headed bolts that are placed in the v8 clutches too soft or is this wear a common thing? All three clutches are installed in Model A's and installing the v8 clutch is a very common upgrade / modification. The round headed bolts are secured with a locking nut on the back side of the finger.
We ensured the rounded bolt heads were equal to each other to ensure the throw-out bearing touched all three at the same time. The throw-out bearings in all three cases are good, nice easy spin and no wear. When you start the car and look down into the inspection plate, the throw-out bearing is not touching the round headed bolt heads. We are not "riding the clutch".

If the centerline of the pressure plate is different than the centerline of the throw out bearing there will be constant scuffing when clutch disengaged
If the heat treatment of the metal is not proper they will wear fast too

The only thing that those bolts touch is the throw-out bearing face that should rotate with them. So the face of that bearing is what wore the bolts down. The only way that happens is if the bearing is not turning or if the fingers are running non-concentric or egg shaped around the centerline of the bearing. Sliding across the bearing face as it is rotating.
Are you sure the bearing is good ? Don't just reach in with your finger to see if it turns and call it good. Will it turn with pressure on it ?
I've seen bearings spin fine with no load then lock up under pressure

Lads, Good points. I'll replace the bearing on spec. Another comment was that the metals used recently on the bolts are not good ole US hardened steel. I believe the supplier clutches are made overseaa.

Probably made in China. Most items from China are inferior to others.
