Hi Gang
Been out of town for awhile and like the new forum setup. Here's a picture of the O/D coupled to the transmision. Hope it works well

It's 4.11
With the O/D it'll be 3.2. Should be ok with 29-30" tall tires
Regards

Russ, it's just a T-176 case (CJ-7, 82-87) I think, but has late 67 Ford toploader gears installed.

Nice setup, Jim. Hadn't considered a GV onto a Jeep T176...very interesting.

If you can use a 3 speed, you can do what I did on my roadster. I used a '75-'77 Pacer, Hornet, or Gremlin 3 speed with overdrive. AMC used Ford transmissions during that time, however Ford didn't offer an overdrive with their full syncro 3 speeds so AMC used the Ford trans and had Laycock (the originator of the gearvendor system) of England adapt their o/d set up. i just took out the side shift items, plugged the shift shaft holes and used a Jeep T-15 top cover. It works great and was able to adapt a gearvendor control without any problem.

That's a great setup. Greatly increases the viability of using a 3-spd by splitting the gears. A non-OD 3-spd has compromise ratios that are far less than optimum...
