33 or 34 cowls
I am kinda new to the early V8 world, having restored mostly Model A and Model T's. I think I have enough parts to start on a 34 5W coupe, but the cowl is in tough shape. Is a 2DR or 4DR cowl the same? Thanks, Ron

Re: 33 or 34 cowls
Yes, but '33 and '34 cowls are slightly different (rear hood side attachment and cowl vent opening).

Re: 33 or 34 cowls
David, yes I had gathered that from discussion on the forum. Here in N.E. Colorado, we had several area dirt tracks in the early 60's. You can guess, all the 32-34 Fords were hacked into stockcars. I can find pieces, but finding good sheetmetal that hasn"t been torched is difficult. The coupe body I have has been torched terribly in the cowl area. I have a good 34 chassis and engine, but am having a hard time finding good sheetmetal. Thanks for the reply. Ron

Hi; Just a note, the sedans roofs gradually get taller toward the 'B' piller. As fourdor doors are 3/4" taller in the rear than 5w doors. Newc

Re: 33 or 34 cowls
If you want your car right find a 34 cowl - there are additional differences not mentioned above . I will add some pics tomorrow showing this . No lights where the cars are .

Re: 33 or 34 cowls
The 34 has a notch on top of the cowl for the hood to be held when open and 33 do not,34 has a screen in the vent and the 33 does not.If the dash is still attached all the gauge are mounted to a panel and that panel is mounted to the dash only on the 33,The 34 have a hole in the side where the rear hood latch hooks when hood is secured and 33 does not There is probable more. Hope this helps Lee34

Re: 33 or 34 cowls
I appreciate all the replies. This is the best source of information I have found. I know A's and T's well, but 32-34 is a new learning experience for me. Thanks to everyone, Ron
