34 question
Hello, does any one know if 34 was the only year that side glass went backwards for a vent opening? Ken

Re: 34 question
They were used for "Cigarette butt disposal". I don't expect Henry designed them for that though.

Re: 34 question
So only 34 and 40? Seems like if ford was still using it in 40 then maybe 35 36 37 etc? The reason I ask is im curious about interchangeable or adaptable parts. Ken

Re: 34 question
And 39. 1940 went to vent windows in front, so the rollback was not used in them, only in the back.

Re: 34 question
Good to know! thanks all. Im replacing rusted out metal rails that the glass sits in and I might be able to modify one from a later v8 to work. I dont want to use repop ones.

Re: 34 question
I've taken NOS 48- #'ed ones and trimmed the end off and wallah-34 ones . I'm not at home so I cannot look it up but many 34 folks should be aware of this trick .

Re: 34 question
So 1940 was the first year that Ford had the vents in the front doors? Is this for cars and trucks also?

Re: 34 question
34pickup I think 34 was first year for cars, my gut tells me the 34 pickup did not but maybe someone else will chime in to tell you for certain. Ken

Re: 34 question
Ken and Ted. I am talking about the little triangle glass that turns out in the front of the door. I think that we may be talking about different things, some people call them wind wings. I know that 34 pickups do not have them because I have one. I don't recall ever seeing any on a 34 car either.
