I use antiseize also. Haven't been able to find the good old yellow brake grease locally.

Re: What grease for Brake pins rollers operarating wege etc
One such special brake lubricating product is an 8 ounce container of Black, Dynatex #49590, Brake & Caliper Lubricant, with finely ground graphite particles.
Has a small brush attached to the metal cap. Designed to withstand temperatures of -55 to 1600 degrees F. If you call 1-800-999-2937, or search on the internet, "Dynatex" in Elizabethtown, KY, also makes many other products which can be used for vintage car maintenance & restoration. Hope this helps. Re: What grease for Brake pins rollers operarating wege etc
A long time ago I learned that antisieze is not a lubricant for moving parts, I was working on golf carts and there was aproblem with some throttle linkage getting rusty and sticking, it was a fleet of 60, I tried wheel bearing grease on 20, antisieze on 20, and a white lithium on 20, had trouble with all 20 antisieze lubed carts in less than a year, the wheel bearing greased and lithium ones went 2 years with only one of each having problems ---the antisieze ones didn't rust, just dried up and got stiff --it's not a lubricant for moving parts.

The only problem with using a standard grease is over time it will liquify and drip onto the shoes.

Re: What grease for Brake pins rollers operarating wege etc
I was informed just today that the only parts that should be greased are the two shafts on for the brake levers. The one for the emergency brake has a fitting. I was told that because I redoing my brakes. Richard/Ca.

Same experience as comment #10 above with trying recommended anti-seize on moving parts.
Liquids evaporate, solids remain somewhat sticky but the anti-seize compound becomes gritty like masons sand or valve grinding compound, while appearing to have very little or no lubricating properties. Anti-seize does work well on preventing rust in bolt threads & nut threads. |

Re: What grease for Brake pins rollers operarating wege etc
Well it looks like RonC's Lubriplate and HL Chauvins Dynatex are the right products for the job!!
Looks like we have all found out about something that we didn't realise was available Thanks again for your input John Cochran |

Another product I have in the shop is an 8 ounce plastic bottle container, (w/application brush), of black "Ultre Disc Brake Caliper Lube", Item #24115, Silicone Formula, Hi-Temp formula, as manufactured by Permatex, designed for brake pins, slides etc.
Dynatex & Permatex brake products appear to be similar brake lubricants. |
