Re: Crank pulley Question
Wow thanks for the detailed reply Gary!
you mention about a better, tighter fit of the crank snout, Are you able to slip them on as is or after heating the sleeve up to increase the ID a bit; i.e., almost a shrink fit? No convenient way to chill the crank in the motor unless I wait for the middle of Winter here in Maine ;-) As a point of reference, I found this crank info of Vanpelt's site, a great site and owner they are. All the 1946 and later cranks have the same bearing journal diameters, so snout is probably the same ID too. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...ring-specs.htm Glenn |

Re: Crank pulley Question
Hi,
I wonder if this kit from Mac's would work? Says only for 8BA so is the snout OD different for the 59A? |

Re: Crank pulley Question
I've never used the steel sleeve, providing the pulley or the 8BA style bus hung is in good shape. The grooves are designed to push the oil back into the engine. however, if it makes you feel better.

Re: Crank pulley Question
Thanks Ron,
I've got a small leak there on my 59A and that's why I'm looking at it. Getting the pulley off is not a simple job on my 32 though! Glenn Last edited by glennpm; 09-09-2019 at 05:52 AM. |
