Default Rear brake pic's

Does anyone have some good pictures of rear brakes from behind the backing plate. I would like to know if my levers are correct. Any pic's of the main pads before the parking band assembly is attached would be also great. Don't want to feel that working ALL Day on them was for nothing!

I don't have any photos to offer, but the service brake levers are a right and a left. The backing plates are identical until you install the service brake levers, then the backing plates become a right and a left. The end of the lever where the clevis installs are at an angle and if installed on the correct sides each should point inboard toward the center of the car. The parking brake levers are the same, but are usually marked left and right.

Hi.
Pics below. They are taken from various cars through the years, not all being owned by me. I have more if you want any.
Les.

the pictures are awesome! - what is the best way (process/trick) to installing the long double spring to the main brakes on the rear that attaches across to each pad.

If you don't have a brake spring pliers then I'd use a good Vice Grip pliers and wear a pair of leather gloves in case something slips and you hand goes flying. Clamp on the end of the spring and use firm steady pull to hook the spring. I do this most of the time, because I rarely have the brake spring pliers handy.

Another trick tool I have used for a lot of different springs came in the kit for the kid's trampoline. Just a hook with a "T" handle for assembling the tramp tarp. Just replaced the trampoline and when we were done, the wife wanted to throw the tool away! I secured it and hung it high so she can't get at it. LOL Seriously helps when installing or removing a variety of A Springs!

Thanks for all the good advise - especially the email from CA Victoria explaining to assemble the back brakes on the backing plate BEFORE you bolt it to the axle and attach the parking brake assembly!!
