Default Rear brake question

I'm replacing both emergency brake toggle lever bushing tubes and am planning to mig a tack weld on both. Is this all good or is there a better way?

Why are you planning to do this?

I have used a 1" ball bearing and a press to swedge in the tube when it is loose or being salvaged from another plate--looks like the factory did it when finished

I also have swedged in the bushing tubes using the lug swedging tool from Brattons. It worked great, seems to be solidly in place, and looks good, but I haven't re-installed yet, so I can't say how it will hold up with use.

TD..........I buzzed mine with a mig and dressed it up with a dremel. Add black paint and it looks fine.

Yea - Mac's suggests a tack weld to hold it in place - I considered on the tube side tight at the base although I could flip it to the flat side and tack on the rim where both pieces meet
