Movies with A's
How cool would it be to amass a list of all the movies with model A's in them. I think the new J. Edgar Hoover movie has several. I'll bet a lot of older movies have lots!

Re: Movies with A's
I don't watch too many movies, but I saw "Ramblin' Rose" (Robert Duvall) the other day. Lots of Model As in that one!

Re: Movies with A's
My A was used in its last movie Sept 2010. Supposedly was in many movies through the 50s - 90s. I have movie proofs from the last one to prove it. It doesn't make any difference but somehow it is fun to think of your A in a real live movie! Any A is fun to see though too. The key chain is from Hollywood and its early as the ph# on it is something like "Elk 2351" or something like that, can't remember for sure now.

The previous owner of my 30 fordor had that car in quite a few movies. From what he had said, he put his name on some list, and if they had a need for a car like yours in your location they would call you with an offer. He told me it was in the movie The Godfather, and they dressed him up to look like a gangster and actually let him drive the car. How cool is that. He still has a big grin on his face everytime he tells that story.

Re: Movies with A's
"Wind At My Back", a television series (1996-2001) was filmed in Bowmanville & Toronto, Ontario, not far from my location. While certainly not an "action" series, the actors were quite talented.
Many period films are produced in Ontario utilizing Model A's from the area, however, depending on the film crew, you might give careful consideration on how they will use your vehicle, if your fussy about your vintage car. Oh, the horror stories!

Re: Movies with A's
A very good movie with lots of A's is "Bound for Glory" about a guitar player Woody Guthrie. The way those cars were driven in this depression era movie I can understand why it is so much work to restore a Model A! There is also a good demonstration of how the old glass domed gasoline pumps were used. I watched it twice to just see the old cars. Those depression era, out of work people sure looked miserable. Not a good time in history. Such a contrast with the Model A today being just pure fun!! Ed

Re: Movies with A's
My 30 pick up was used in a local movie called Bad Blood. There were also several other local old cars used, but mine was the only Model A.
This is a true story about a farmer who went on a shooting rampage in 1941, gunning down 7 people, untill he himself was shot a week later. http://www.filmarchive.org.nz/featur.../Bad-Blood.php

Re: Movies with A's
I just watched winds of war, streaming it off netflix. It was a miniseries about wwII. It was quite good and it had a ton of old cars. Nice to see them in their original element.

Re: Movies with A's
One thing I have noticed...Seems in all the A's in modern movies or other old cars are just like new... no rust or dirt, showing no age weathering...Even if the era of the movie is maybe 1940... just not quite right..... not even a dent.....just pickin.....
